ANGER, RESENTMENT AND VENGEANCE

ANGER, RESENTMENT AND VENGEANCE

Don’t let anyone bring you down so low as to hate them. Release them from the hold they have on you and continue on with peace in your heart. Life is short and is not worth wasting your time trying to figure people out or prove anything to them. The only person you have to prove anything to is yourself. Strive to be the best person you can possibly be, be strong, and walk away. Holding on to bitterness and anger will only hinder your happiness. Your life is much too precious to spend another minute worrying about someone that doesn’t bring you happiness. Say goodbye and wish them well. After all, they’ve made you a stronger person. They’ll see the light someday. ~Ladybug

To be wronged or robbed, is nothing unless you continue to remember it. – Confucius

If possible, no animosity should be felt for anyone. – Schopenhauer

I realize that patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness toward anyone.- Edith Cavell, Condemned British nurse

I have no time to quarrel, no time for regrets, and no man can force me to stoop low enough to hate him.- Laurence Jones

Every man will pay the penalty for his own misdeeds. The man who remembers this will be angry with no one, indignant with no one, revile no one, blame no one, offend no one, hate no one. – Epictetus

No man was to be eulogized for what he did; or censured for what he did or did not do," because "all of us are the children of conditions, of circumstances, of environment, of education, of acquired habits and of heredity moulding men as they are and will forever be. – Abraham Lincoln

To know all is to understand all, and this leaves no room for judgment and condemnation.- Clarence Darrow

So instead of hating our enemies, let's pity them and thank God that life has not made us what they are. Instead of heaping condemnation and revenge upon our enemies, let's give them our understanding, our sympathy, our help, our forgiveness, and our prayers.- Dale Carnegie

Never try to get even with our enemies, because if you do you will hurt yourself far more than you hurt them.- Dale Carnegie

Heat not the furnace for your foe so hot that, it do singe yourself. – Shakespeare

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.- The Holy Bible

If selfish people try to take advantage of you, cross them off your list, but don't try to get even. When you try to get even, you hurt yourself more than you hurt the other fellow. – Milwaukee Police Department

The chief personality characteristic of persons with hypertension [high blood pressure] is resentment. When resentment is chronic, chronic hypertension and heart trouble follow. - Life Magazine

When we hate our enemies, we are giving them power over us: power over our sleep, our appetites, our blood pressure, our health, and our happiness. – Dale Carnegie

He who conquers his spirit is mightier than he who taketh the city.- Proverbs 16:32

I asked God

I asked God

I asked God to do away with my vices  God said no
They are not there for me to take them away. They are there for you to resist them
I asked God to complete my body God said no
Your spirit is complete, your body is only temporary
I asked God to give me patience  God said no
Patience is a byproduct of difficulties. It is not given but learned
I asked God to give me happiness God said no
I give blessings. Happiness depends upon you
I asked God to free me of pain God said no
Suffering makes you go far away from this world and brings you nearer to me
I asked God to make my spirit grow God said no
You have to grow by yourself! But I will prune you to make you bear fruit
I asked God for the things that would make me like life God said no
I will give you life, so you can enjoy all those things
I asked God to help me love the others, like He loves me.. God said: .... ohhh, you finally got the idea...
If you love God, send this message to at least 10 people and back to the sender of this message. It will make you feel good

This will be your day.  Don’t throw it away...
“To the world you may mean just a person, but to a person you may mean the world”
Do not judge to not be judged. Understand what is happening and you will be blessed

MONEY

MONEY

When it comes to Money, you can't Win.

If you focus on making it, you're Materialistic.

If you try to but don't make any, you're a Loser.

If you make a lot and keep it, you're a Miser.

If you make it and Spend it, you're a Spendthrift.

If you don't care about making it, you're Un-ambitious.

If you make a lot and still have it When you die, you're a Fool--for trying to take it with you.

The only way to really win with Money is to Hold it loosely--and be generous with it to accomplish things of Value. As E Stanley Jones said, ‘’ money is a wonderful servant but a terrible master. If it gets on top and you get under it, you will become its slave’’

"I will help thee, saith the Lord." Isaiah 41:14

"I will help thee, saith the Lord." Isaiah 41:14

Today let us hear the Lord Jesus speak to each one of us: "I will help thee." "It is but a small thing for Me, your God, to help you. Consider what I have done already. Why! not help you? Why, I bought you with My blood. I have died for you; and if I have done the greater, will I not do the less?

Help you! It is the least thing I will ever do for you; I have done more, and will do more. Before the world began I chose you. I made the covenant for you. I laid aside My glory and became a man for you; I gave up My life for you; and if I did all this, I will surely help you now. In helping you, I am giving you what I have bought for you already.

If you need a thousand times as much help, I would give it you; your needs are small compared with what I am ready to give. Your needs might be enormous, but it is nothing for me to give. 'Help you?' Fear not! If there is an ant at the door of thy granary asking for help, it would not ruin you to give him a handful of your wheat; and you are nothing but a tiny insect at the door of My all-sufficiency. 'I will help you.'"

O my soul, is this not enough? Do you need more strength than the omnipotence of the United Trinity? Do you want more wisdom than exists in the Father, more love than the Son bestows, or more power than is manifest in the influences of the Spirit?

Bring to me your empty pitcher! Surely my well will fill it. Hurry, gather up your wants, and bring them here--your emptiness, your woes, your needs. Behold, this river of God is full for your supply; what do you desire more? Go forth, my soul, in all your might. The Eternal God is your helper!

"Fear not, I am with you, do not be disappointed
I am your God, and will help you."

What Matters

What Matters

You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five winners of the Miss World.
3. Name ten people who have won the N
obel Prize.
4. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
5. Name the five greatest scientist in the world.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?
The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia." (Charles Schulz)

JUST FOR TODAY

JUST FOR TODAY

Here are ten resolutions to make when you awake in the morning. They are Just for One Day. Think of them not as a life task but as a day’s work. These things will give you pleasure. Yet they require will power. You don’t need resolutions to do what is easy.

1. Just for Today, I will try to live through this day only, and not tackle my whole life-problem at once. I can do some things for twelve hours that would appall me if I felt I had to keep them up for a lifetime.

2. Just for Today, I will be Happy. This assumes that what Abraham Lincoln said is true, that “most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” Happiness is from Within; it is not a matter of Externals.

3. Just for Today, I will Adjust myself to what Is, and not try to Adjust everything to my own desires. I will take my family, my business, and my luck as they come, and fit myself to them.

4. Just for Today, I will take care of my Body. I will exercise it, care for it, and nourish it, and not abuse it nor neglect it; so that it will be a perfect machine for my will.

5. Just for Today, I will try to strengthen my mind, I will study. I will learn something useful, I will not be a mental loafer all day. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.

6. Just for Today, I will exercise my Soul. In three ways, to wit:
(a) I will do somebody a good turn and not get found out. If anybody knows of it, it will not count.
(b) I will do at least two things I don’t want to do, as William James suggests just for exercise.
(c) I will not show any one that my feelings are hurt. They may be hurt, but Today I will not show it.

7. Just for To-day, I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress as becomingly as possible, talk low, act courteously, be liberal with flattery, criticize not one bit nor find fault with anything, and not try to regulate nor improve anybody.

8. Just for Today, I will have a Programme. I will write down just what I expect to do every hour. I may not follow it exactly, but I’ll have it. It will save me from the two pests Hurry and Indecision.

9. Just for Today, I will have a quiet half hour, all by myself, and relax. During this half hour, some time, I will think of God, so as to get a little more perspective to my life.

10. Just for Today, I will be Unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to be Happy, to enjoy what is Beautiful, to love and to believe that those I love love me.
